CPECS: 4
The Emotional Eating Practicum is an advanced hands-on training designed to help dietitians understand, identify, and manage emotional eating behaviors in clinical practice. This course explores the psychological, behavioral, and nutritional aspects of emotional and binge eating while providing practical counseling tools to support long-term behavioral change.
Participants will learn how to assess emotional eating triggers, recognize the relationship between emotions and food behaviors, and implement evidence-based interventions rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and mindset reframing techniques.
Through practical worksheets, activities, and clinical applications, attendees will gain the confidence to help patients improve their relationship with food, reduce emotional overeating episodes, and build healthier coping mechanisms.
